Comporium Spam/Antivirus Filter FAQ
The Comporium Spam/Antivirus Filter protects your e-mail account from several types of threats, including virus, phishing, and spam messages. Messages sent to your e-mail address are automatically scanned by the system and if necessary, are quarantined for your review. This helps protect you from potential virus/spyware infection as well as helps keep you from becoming the victim of a phishing attack.
The Comporium Spam/Antivirus filter provides subscribers with a robust interface called the Personal Dashboard. Using this tool, subscribers can check quarantined messages and choose to either permanently delete them or deliver them to the Inbox. Subscribers can also adjust settings and polices used by the filtering service to create a more personalized experience. To access the Personal Dashboard, point your web browser to http://spam.comporium.net.
While most of the quarantine settings are configurable on a per-user basis, Comporium does not allow subscribers to disable protection from virus-infected messages. It is also important to note that this tool provides protection against e-mail borne threats only. Comporium also advises all subscribers take advantage of a PC-based internet security product for comprehensive protection. Comporium provides its High Speed Internet subscribers with this type of software for free. For more information, click here.
There are two ways to check for quarantined messages.
The first is to login to the Personal Dashboard by navigating to to http://spam.comporium.net. Here you can review and take action on quarantined messages as well as change any quarantine settings. To access, login using your comporium.net username and password. Once logged in, you will be directed to the following webpage.
Comporium.net subscribers also receive a daily e-mail report from the system that provides a list of quarantined messages. This report is called the Daily Digest. The Personal Dashboard can also be accessed via links in this e-mail. A screenshot of the Daily Digest can be found in the question below.
The Daily Digest is a daily e-mail report sent to all Comporium.net subscribers. This report provides a list of any messages quarantined in the system. An example Daily Digest can be seen below. The e-mail also contains clickable links that gives subscribers the following functionality:
Note: If you would like to receive the Daily Digest on a less frequent basis, this setting can be adjusted by accessing the Settings menu in the Personal Dashboard. Here you can adjust the delivery frequency, report format, report content, and the way entries are ordered.

To configure any settings for the filter, login to the Personal Dashboard (http://spam.comporium.net) and click on the Policies tab. Here you can adjust your spam settings based on the type of message, country of origin, or by attachment type. You can also configure allowed senders (Friends) and blocked senders (Enemies)

To access help documentation for the system, login to the Personal Dashboard (http://spam.comporium.net) and click on Help.
By default, the Personal Dashboard only displays messages received over the previous 24 hours. To expand this time frame, click on the Time Range button. A sliding bar will appear that will allow you to adjust the time frame as far back as the previous 35 days. Any messages received prior to the previous 35 days are automatically discarded.

Messages will remain in the Personal Dashboard Quarantine until they are automatically aged out of the system. This is done to facilitate the trouble shooting process in the rare event that a legitimate message is quarantined in the system. This process is currently set to occur after a message has been quarantined for 35 days. Messages cannot be manually removed from the Personal Dashboard.
