Q
My e-mail keeps "hanging up" on a message when trying to download my e-mail. What is the problem?

Answer:

This issue is typically caused by one of the following three issues:

1.  Someone has sent you an e-mail with an attachment is too large.  Check by logging into webmail  and delete any messages with large attachments.  Then try to send/receive using your e-mail client software.

2.  There are unsent messages "hung up" in your e-mail Outbox.  Check your Outbox for any messages that the client was unable to deliver or that has an attachment larger than 20 MB.

3.  The time-out setting on your mail client may need to be adjusted.  To adjust in Outlook Express, follow these instructions:

  1. Open Outlook Express and navigate to Tools -> Accounts.
  2. Select the Mail tab.
  3. Select your Comporium.net account and click on Properties .
  4. In the window that opens, select the Advanced tab.
  5. Increase the Server timeouts setting to a slightly higher setting (we recommend you only add 30 seconds).
